How to Decorate Your Aisle Runner

We get so many questions about suggestions on how to decorate the brides wedding aisle runner that we figured we would write up a post about it. Here are a few wedding aisle runner decoration ideas that people have used in their wedding themes.

Hand Painted Monograms
Of course our first suggestion would be to have your name and wedding date, along with the first letter of your last names hand painted on the wedding aisle runner. If you’d like to jazz up the monogram even further, you can opt to have embellishments and/or a ribbon border added to your monogram or other details such as roses of calla lilies.

Rose Wedding Theme
If your having a wedding with a rose theme, there is nothing more beautiful than walking down a rose petal covered aisle runner. If you opt to go with a hand painted monogram and the rose petals, make sure that the rose petals are positioned in a way that they don’t obstruct the view of the monogram and that your monogram colors and the rose petals compliment each other.

Beach Wedding Theme
There are two popular ways to spice up your aisle runner if you are having a beach themed wedding. One way is to use sea shells strategically placed along the aisle runner. Be sure that the color of the sea shells and the aisle runner color are not too similar. If they are, you may not be able to make out the sea shells in your photos. Also, make sure that the shells are not directly in the walkway of the bride. We would not want the bride tripping over a shell on her big day.
Another popular beach wedding aisle runner decoration is spreading colored sand along the aisle runner. The colors of the sand should match the wedding decor. For the DIY brides out there, stay tuned for a post in the future describing how you can make colored sand right at home for your wedding.

Autumn Wedding Theme
Finally, if you are having an autumn themed wedding, a great way to decorate your aisle runner is to place small pumpkins along the edges of the runner. This can serve two purposes. One purpose is for decoration and effect. The second is to hold the aisle runner down so that it will not slide or move.
